The "X" version has a newly designed apex with a rosette connector for SA-X rifle heads AND a 3/8" mounting screw to attach any standard 3/8" head. The rosette connector provides an extremely stable connection between the tripod's apex and the base of the head. The angle stop design has also been improved from the standard pull tab to a knurled bar which allows the user to adjust the angles with only one hand as opposed to two. The Leofoto MA-40X Lever-Release Rapid Lock Ball Head was designed specifically to be used on an SA-X tripod, but it features both the SA-X rosette connection as well as a standard 3/8" mounting socket. The head has a lever release to lock/unlock the ball and a redesigned lever-release clamp system with an adjustable clamping width.
